According to research by Socialbakers and updated data provided to MarketingCharts, Facebook brand posts get half their total reach within 30 minutes of being published.  And, within  the first 10 minutes after publication, one-third of post reach was obtained for that Facebook brand post. The remaining reach seems to be received over the next 7 hours.

In the 11-20 minute period after publication within the social media site, brand posts reached approximately an additional 13.2% of their total audience.

Having a deeper understanding of the timing of social impact can help everyone from eCommerce managers planning sales driven messaging to non-profit websites planning a fundraising campaign that is tied to an event.

Adobe reported recently that Facebook social media fan engagement rates surged in Q3, however the rates still appear to be quite low for regular posts. Merely 6% of Facebook fans interact with brands’ Facebook pages with liking, sharing, or commenting--clear signs of engagement. Still, with the huge number of users that Facebook hoards, the social site is still a clear and vital part of many organization's digital strategy.
