New Google Shopping Makes Black Friday Irresistible

With the biggest shopping holiday of the year approaching Google has rolled out a slew of new features to the shopping aggregate tool, Google Shopping, to help make it easier to do all of your holiday gift-buying from your couch.

As they announced on their blog on Tuesday, new features include reviews from people you know, getting inspiration with a view “visually similar” filter, and look for a “3D” button to see a product with a 360-degree view for HTML5 browsers.  They’ve also added a Shortlist option where users can add items from in and outside of Google Shopping, which eliminates bookmarking and the list of url links to share.  The Shortlist feature also enables sharing with a group where comments and collaboration can help everyone shop together.

Some of these new features not only entice consumers but retailers can also promote discounts and specials to users.  Since being launched in May of this year, retailers have seen positive results from Shopping driving not just sales, but click-through traffic, connecting to consumers, and improving conversion rates as well.

Unlike some of the Google products that have gone under or virtually unnoticed (Wave, Desktop, and iGoogle to name a few), Google Shopping continues to grow and with the Google Trusted Store certification quickly latching on, it will likely make shopping this Black Friday too hard to resist.
