Some small businesses still cling to email marketing only

Constant Contact has produced a newly-released survey that focuses on the marketing tactics of small businesses. The survey highlight the importance email marketing still holds for small businesses.

Of those surveyed, 82% of small businesses utilizing social media marketing currently, and this number will grow next year to 88%. Social media is still a runner up to email marketing. For those small businesses that shy away from social media marketing channels, 43% state that email marketing is all they need, according to the study.

Of those small businesses focusing solely on email marketing,  40% cite the reason to be a lack of resources and 31% state that they don't know how to utilize social media for marketing. Another 13% of small businesses say that the reason for not adapting social media is because they are not sure what to post.
