On what device do people check email the most?

A new report by Return Path, Where, When and What We Checked Emails On This Holiday Season, sheds some light on email usage data trends. The Return Path report examined about 1.3 billion opened emails. Mobile is a platform for reading emails. During this recent holiday season, mobile had a 51% of email open share rate. Mobile claims the top position for consumers opening and reading emails, the study reported. And, this number is only growing.

email statistics - email open rates Christmas saw the largest open rate on mobile devices with numbers at 62%. Of that Christmas Day number, 57% of mobile opens were on an iPhone, and 28% were on an iPad. Android exhibited a much smaller representation with 14% of all emails opened.
