Senior Content Specialist - Remote

We are hiring a full-time Senior Content Specialist with a passion for both writing and research to create compelling content for niche B2B industries.

You conduct valuable interviews with SME's, clients, and stakeholders. You also frequently use third-party research, reports, and industry content to inform your writing. Although you have expertise in energy, utilities, or petrochemical industry(ies), you are comfortable with writing about others, such as B2B technology and nonprofits, on occasion.

You are confident and assertive when necessary. You are not only a great communicator in written form but verbally as well. Your presence on Zoom is strong and articulate. You are adaptable and comfortable navigating ambiguity. You are able to understand and retain rapidly changing business narratives.

Remote positions do not bother you, and you have the emotional intelligence to be part of a team even though you are working from home. You are self-motivated and find you are at your best within a collaborative and feedback-driven environment, and you can coach others to help the whole team perform better. Most importantly, you never want to stop learning and are hungry for an opportunity to advance your marketing and content writing skills for a variety of industries.

The Day-to-Day

  • Act as a client-facing strategic leader, with the ability to lead discussions, document, and present content priorities and messaging frameworks based on the pain points, value points, and market forces impacting buying groups.
  • Conceptualize and edit technical, nuanced content catered to different phases of the buyer's journey, including but not limited to ad copy, landing pages, thought leadership articles, premium content offers, email nurtures, social posts, and website copy.
  • Conduct SME and sales interviews 
  • Adhere to established brand and legal standards for tone, voice, and styles
  • Application of Inbound Marketing methodologies and continued deepening of knowledge.
  • Working closely with client stakeholders and conveying fantastic interpersonal communication skills
  • Provide thoughtful analysis of petrochemical and energy subjects and other industries as needed
  • Editorial and coaching support to our talented team of writers
  • Learn and leverage our tools and technology to use data and insights to support content strategy
  • Attend internal and client meetings and Ironpaper training and workshops.

Qualifications include

  • Strong writing experience in one of the following industries is required: Energy, Utilities, or Petrochemical. You'll need to share your portfolio with writing samples in at least one of these areas.
  • Experience in a marketing agency, digital newsroom, trade journalism, or enterprise-scale content marketing is highly preferred
  • Skilled and efficient editor and writing coach
  • Ability to interview subject matter experts at large global companies
  • Must be a kind and driven individual who is passionate about their work.
  • Strong presentation, communication, writing, editing, and research skills. You will need to be able to lead enterprise-level client conversations and field information with the internal team.
  • Understands the core concepts of Inbound Marketing.
  • Must be located within the US only and be able to work 9am - 6pm EST
  • Must be comfortable working in a remote environment and able to lead engaging and productive Zoom meetings with clients and the internal team
  • Ability to use a Macbook and Google Suite
  • Extra credit for experience working in Hubspot

The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is imperative in order to convey inspiring stories and impactful insights to both team members and clients.

We are seeking an individual that embodies our passion for ongoing learning. We are open to candidates that may need to gain new skills for this role and will take 5-6 HubSpot and Google certifications within the first year to help with skill development. We also expect that this candidate will be open to learning and becoming a champion for Ironpaper's methodologies for marketing, sales, content, and management. Additionally, this position will require someone that will continuously learn and gain new and diverse skills over time.
