Content Director - New York

We are hiring a full time Content Director in our New York, NY office. We are looking for a passionate writer and researcher who will play a leadership role with our teams and clients. 

In this role, you will help our clients improve their content practices through strategy and education. Additionally, you will lead a team of talented content specialist and help them continue to learn and develop new skills. 

We are seeking a smart and capable manager with a background in content marketing, strategy and development. Agency experience and/or digital marketing experience is a plus. Must have experience managing and coaching professionals. 

We are looking for someone who can navigate right brain / left brain thinking. Yes, this is a creative position, while it also requires clear communication and organization skills. We are seeking a well-balanced individual that would love to play a key role in the growth of a highly impactful digital agency.

Core responsibilities


  • Be an individual contributor as well as a team leader
  • Play a direct role in coaching, training, and mentoring your team
  • Learn and put into practices the content methodology that governs Ironpaper's approach to content, and ensure your team learns and implements this approach
  • Create strategic content including blog articles, third-party articles, eBooks, key messaging, interviews, sales collateral, whitepapers, and website copy
  • Create client content strategies, plans, and messaging and client content strategy documents that frames content maps throughout the buyer's journey.


 


  • Learn and understand Inbound Marketing methodology, and help train your team on this approach
  • Create messaging and content for lead/opportunity nurturing programs for both the marketing and sales funnels.
  • Ability to quickly conduct research on industries and topics within the business and tech categories
  • Working closely with client stakeholders and conveying fantastic interpersonal communication skills
  • Provide thoughtful analysis of digital economies, information technology, cloud, B2B tech, and business transformation subjects

 

Qualifications include

  • Ability to provide a writing portfolio that includes professional works. Business or Technology subjects preferred
  • 5+ years in a leadership role. Agency experience preferred
  • Must be a smart and lovely person that is passionate about their work
  • Strong presentation, communication, writing, editing, and research skills
  • Understanding of technology, digital, and business subjects
  • Willing to learn the core concepts of Inbound Marketing.
  • Experience analyzing business challenges or management operations issues
  • Must be located remote within the US only, and be able to work 9am - 6pm EST
  • Must be comfortable working in a remote environment

The candidate should have a strong understanding of B2B content development and strategy with experience in performance management and team leadership.

We are seeking an individual that embodies our passion for ongoing learning. We are open to candidates that may need to gain new skills for this role and will take 5-6 HubSpot and Google certifications within the first year to help with skill development. We also expect that this candidate will be open to learning and becoming a champion for Ironpaper's methodologies for marketing, sales, content, and management. Additionally, this position will require someone that will continuously learn and gain new and diverse skills over time.
