Finance Manager - New York

We are hiring a full-time Finance or Business Manager who is a professional, reliable leader with the ability to multitask effectively and manage and analyze finances.

This position will work under our Vice President of Operations, while independently managing bookkeeping, A/P, and A/R. We are seeking an individual that is smart, organized, and friendly.

Responsibilities include overseeing the financial activity of the agency (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, patient contracts and accounting). Must have experience with Accounts Payable and Receivable, Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Monthly report reconciliations with QuickBooks, and preparation for our tax advisor, P&L, and the balance sheet. 

We are seeking a smart, organized, capable, and friendly individual who is a team player but also able to work independently.  Must have the ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environment.

Core responsibilities


  • Management of contracts, deals, proposals, and expenses
  • Ability to manage other people, including a full-time bookkeeper
  • High proficiency with Quickbooks (We use Quickbooks online)
  • Business management - playing a role in business management for the agency with a focus on cash, accounting, financial planning, growth, ROI, and the health of the business
  • Accounting and cash - management and analysis of our financial well-being, plus oversight of any accounts, costs, people and processes that play a direct role in our business financial health

  • Cost vs. revenue management - How we manage our financials to achieve growth. Are we spending money on the right things to grow the company in a healthy way?
  • Financial administration of Ironpaper. Management of the business admin team, data, and software as the company grows
  • Planning of any use of cash to improve our services, team, support, business, culture or growth
  • Management of the functional utilization and cost-benefit-analysis of the office, utilities, benefits, property, and resources for the agency
  • Reports directly to the VP of Operations

Qualifications include

  • 5+ years experience in leading finance for small to mid-size organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online 

  • Great communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Experience with HR support: benefits, working with our PEO services (Justworks), and tracking data related to HR

  • Work with General Ledgers, Bank Recs, A/P, and A/R

  • Process payroll and oversee benefits

  • Manage collections using professional communications

  • Prepare and process wires, ACH payments, and checks

Additionally, the candidate should be a professional finance manager and possess skills in finance and business analysis. Strong communication skills are also important, because we need to communicate with clients and company leadership.
