Content Creative Director – Remote

We are hiring a full-time Content Creative Director to lead the B2B writing craft and inspire the team to continually elevate their abilities. 

The Content Director will partner with another Content Director who is focused on managing our team of writers and their work assignments.

Fundamental Capabilities

  • 8+ years of professional writing experience with at least 3 years in B2B marketing writing
  • Experience writing in at least some of the following industries: Technology, Energy, Manufacturing, B2B Healthcare, Aerospace, Industrial, and Logistics/Supply Chain.
  • Experience working in a professional services firm or agency 
  • You bring advanced skills to the table- including content mapping, messaging maps/strategy, and other content strategies.    
  • Ability to provide a strong writing portfolio that includes professional works on business or technology subjects. 
  • Ability to coach and inspire others  
  • Successful at change management
  • Strong presentation, communication, writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Willingness to learn and a desire to receive feedback
  • Strong analytic skills with an ability to derive insights and communicate those insights both verbally and in writing; prior experience in pitching ideas to C-Suite executives
  • Professional understanding of inbound marketing
  • Self-starter who is able to begin contributing within the first 1-2 weeks
  • Ability to complete required training courses via online learning
  • Must be able to work full-time remote within the US from 9 am to 6 pm EST
  • You must be able to use a Macbook and Google Suite

Your Day-to-Day

  • You will act as a leader at Ironpaper helping to evolve our practice, client relationships, and quality of our work.
  • Be an inspiration and a mentor to our team of writers and lead their creative development:
    • Support the upskilling of our existing writers by editing individual writers’ work (in multiple industries, formats, and styles) prior to client delivery, working with a coaching mindset to elevate their writing craft.
    • Lead and/or troubleshoot during the external review process, assimilating multiple (occasionally conflicting) perspectives into creative or editorial direction while championing agency methodology.  
    • Lead innovative, positive group workshops and trainings that teach and inspire – to the content team, directors, and collaborators
  • Provide clear communication that aligns with Ironpaper’s methodologies and sets mission clarity for our team and with our clients. 
    • Drive substance and quality within thought leadership/industry impact content. 
    • Stoke the creation of highly strategic, case study-quality B2B content marketing assets and campaigns. 
    • Grow in-house multimedia capabilities: set quality standards and lead production into new formats, potentially including but not limited to data visualizations, video, interactive web experiences, and/or social media slideshows/stories Expand depth, scope, and substance of agency portfolio
  • Improve the system of accountability, skill development, and quality of work. 
    • Collect insights, client feedback, and other data points to assess the success of the content team.
    • Establish milestones for strengthening the success, health, and quality of Ironpaper’s content programs. 
    • Ensure we have a great workflow and feedback loop to produce the highest quality of work possible. 
    • Help us bridge silos between other departments
  • Directly support the team of content specialists in a player-coach role. 
    • Understand the constraints and goals of account work; take personal accountability for content success on key accounts.
    • Step in on client projects and make direct contributions whenever a higher level of expertise is needed.
  • Client-facing leadership for content retainers/projects 
    • Present and lead content strategy including discussions and workshops, either on critical accounts or at key points during a client relationship
    • Lead teams of content specialists and collaborators executing on client creative work and meeting or exceeding associated marketing goals

Extra credit if:

  • You have hands-on experience using Hubspot
  • Have worked in Agile project management


 

We need someone who is self-motivated, obsessed with learning, and inherently kind.

You must be a hands-on leader with substantial skills in writing.

The ability to communicate effectively and inspire others are imperative in order to elevate the team.
