Ironpaper approached the largest producer of fortune cookies with a surprising proposition... What if we try to extend the life of the fortune cookie by offering a digital experience to engage customers?

Our idea was to create a new engagement channel based on a kitschy, loss leader product--the fortune cookie--allowing Wonton Foods to engage customers through their mobile phones at dinner time.

Essentially, this project would help reposition Wonton Foods, by providing a new revenue center for the cookie maker, while extending the experience of their product.

The project included building a customer-focused web app; the creation of an array of new, humorous fortunes; an update to the fortune cookie itself; analytic reports; and the introduction of prizes and other customer-centric engagement opportunities.
